| Motorstorm for PS3 looks awesome. I just finished playing a demo of it. From what I gather, its formula is this:
(dirt racing + testeosterone) ^ 2 + shitty music + multiplayer modes - choppy frame rates = Motorstorm
I'll probably just turn the music down and leave it off once I buy it, but everything else was beautiful. I launched a Soviet-themed truck off a fallen billboard, flew 50 yards through the air, and came crashing down on another car hard enough to have surely changed the driver's very worldview. Oh man...

| I almost just shat myself in excitement. As far as I can tell, the PS3 is a computer and not merely a console anymore. It comes with an OS installed on it, and Sony has officially stated that Yellow Dog Linux is working on a PS3 specific release of its OS. I don't know for sure whether other linux os will be compatible with the PS3, but I'd like to think so. I'm not sure why, but the prospect of being able to run openOffice, Gaim, Firefox, etc. on my PS3 has me giddy. It will also be accepting any SATA hard drive, and it will work with USB mass storage devices. Hopefully this means I'll be able to use my sexy 160GB external hard drive with my sexy new PS3. 6 days 'til I go camping...
*edit* My most highly-anticipated game, Resistance: Fall of Man, has been reviewed by IGN. Quotes:
"The framerate is locked at 30 the whole way through and doesn't falter
anywhere... ever. In fact, regardless of how many enemies and moving
objects were on the screen at one time, there wasn't a single frame
hitch the entire way through."
That's fantastic - and what I'd respect from something with 7 damn processors in it.
"The default control configuration and its sensitivity work great too..."
Good. Console FPS are generally inferior to PC FPS, and this is, in my opinion, mostly due to the control scheme. However, a console FPS can be just as good if it controls well.
"The good news is that the enemies ARE tough. In fact, the AI in
Resistance is pretty decent and it makes for quite a challenging time.
Some Chimeran soldiers, for example, are smart enough to take cover,
change strategic positions, or team up with other monsters in an effort
to kill you dead."
One word: yeah!
"As strong as everything in Resistance is, the real standout factor in
the experience is its multiplayer. Simply put, it's incredible. Jacked
in from multiple locations (via broadband Internet connection) we were
consistently able to enjoy 30-40 player games with no noticeable lag
whatsoever... it also has strongly-designed maps, a countless number of trackable
stats, a Battlefield-like ranking system (60 ranks in total), clan
creation support for up to 200 members, and several different modes..."
Which means that I have 7 days to figure out what my moniker for killing people virtually should be.
They gave the game a score of 9.1 out of 10. That's good. That's really good.

| The PS3 comes out in 10 days. I'll be sitting outside a Best Buy waiting for it in 9.

| So yeah, she and I aren't dating anymore. But it's ok; it's cool. We're still gonna be hanging out, and she's still coming over to watch Lost tonight. Speaking of Lost...where the hell is this show going? I'm so transfixed I'm forgetting just to breathe, but I have no idea what the writers are doing. I'm trusting that the show will eventually have a conclusion, but there's none in sight yet.

| I'm pretty head-over-heels for this girl, and life is looking pretty damn good right now. I must be rockin' some major good karma 'cause I'm really hairy and unkept right now, and she's pretty neat. But yeah, in case anyone was wondering I'm basically a happiness engine right now.
